Hello and welcome! My name is Sydney and it’s so good to meet you!
I’m a new wife (6 months and counting!) who is learning each day how to take care of our home and honor God in the little ways. Ever since I was a little girl my dream has always been to be a homemaker. Now that I am living out this dream of mine, it feels as if I have (finally) stepped into my calling.

But as I adjust to this new season in my life, I’ve been learning that, well, it’s a learning process. I’ve been learning how to take care of our home, how to cook healthy meals, how to love my husband well, and so much more. I wish I could say that homemaking has been easy and that it comes naturally. And though there are some things I do find that come easy, not all things do. So I’d like to say that I’m a homemaker in training, because I’m still learning so much each and every day.
As I’m on this journey of learning, I want to share all that I’ve been learning. Writing has always been a huge part of my life and this blog is my little place in this world to share the things God is teaching me as I learn how to become a homemaker and honor God in this new role.
On this blog I hope to write about newly married life, things God is teaching, tips for taking care of the home, and hopefully sharing lots of favorite recipes! My desire for this blog is that it will be a place where I can share the things I’m learning, not as an expert, but as a fellow learner in this role.
Why “Spirit-Filled Homemaking”?
Because I believe that homemaking is a God given calling. Amidst the mundane tasks that homemaking often involves, it can be easy to lose sight of God. Like all other callings God gives his followers, we are to do it unto the glory of God. We have a job to bring God into our home and the only way to do that is to allow our homemaking to be filled with the Holy Spirit.
The calling to be a homemaker is a beautiful calling. Each day we have the opportunity to honor God in the way we take care of our home! I’m excited about this new journey! Won’t you come along with me and learn!
